Establishment: Founded in 1902 in Kasur, a small city 50 miles (48 km) south of Lahore, near the Indian border.
Mission Roots: The school was established by two Scottish missionaries, Alice Aitken and Annie Sutherland, under the Zenana Bible and Medical Mission (ZBMM), which worked alongside the Presbyterian Mission.
Original Model: Functioned as a boarding school for Christian village girls, grading as an Upper Primary School with approximately 20 students.
Nationalization: Taken over by the Government of Punjab in 1972.
Denationalization: Returned to the Presbyterian Education Board (PEB) in 2000 after a legal battle.
Our greatest need at CGHS Kasrur is scholarships to help deserving students who are unable to afford tuition. As our school is growing and enrollment is increasing, there is also need for a multipurpose hall, more classrooms, furniture, science & computer lab facilities, and the additional security measures. Also, please pray for success in ongoing litigations for the remaining land that has not yet been returned since denationalization.
